Remove bandage and wash immediately (no loofahs or washcloths). Use hot (or as warm as can handle) water with liquid hand soap. Dial Antibacterial soap that is unscented is a good option to use.
-
Let air dry or pat dry with a clean disposable paper towel (no rubbing, no bath or hand towels).
-
Leave uncovered to let the wound heal itself. (Still wash 3-5 times a day).
-
After 12 hours start applying thin layers of healing ointment after each wash (we recommend aquaphor).
-
After 7-10 days, you may switch to regular body lotion.
-
Do not submerge fresh tattoos for a minimum of 2 weeks - No pools, beaches, baths, or hot tubs. It will ruin your tattoo and cause infection. A tattoo is an open wound.

If you have pets that go in your bed change the sheets and keep your tattoo covered for the first couple nights while you sleep. It is also recommended to clean your sheets regardless when you get a new tattoo.
